After much thought, looking at them in every conceivable light condition, time of day and night, with the lights on, off or just dimmed, I have picked the following colors..and that's my final answer.
Had some free time today so I put all the bits and pieces on a board so I could see how everything is going to look together...I'm liking it. Still haven't pinned down the actual colors for the cabinets, but I think I'm close.
I came home from work and decided to cut some peonies from the garden, there are so many, and more to come. While I was out there, I took a few other pictures, everything is so beautiful right now, I wish I had more time to enjoy it. O'well the last of the demo was done today and I have the next 4 days to clean up from it.
Although the house is over 100 years old, I will still have a small room off the kitchen that is just a cozy corner for reading or watching TV. I have been thinking about the light fixture for this room, and I found one that I fell in love with. Because this room is so separate and can not be seen from any where else, I think a change of style will be nice. What do you think of my light fixture?
Now its time to pick a color for the kitchen cabinets. I have used Benjamin Moore, Muslin for trim color every where else in the house, so I guess I will use it for the trim in the kitchen as well. I want to pain the cabinets close to the trim color but with a little contrast, maybe Putman ivory, will have to look at it in a few different lights and see how it looks. It will be nice to have this figured out and move on to the next item, hardware for the cabinets.
The plans are ready and the Cabinet Makers has them! A huge milestone.
Now I just have to figure out the sinks, faucets, counters, floors and about 1,000 other things!
I am really considering using concrete as the finished floors. I love the variegation in the acid staining, getting alot of conflicting advise as far as the electrical heating under the floor. I'll have to spend sometime and really look into it.
